'Twas the week before Christmas...

It's been quite the week. I'm kind of ready for it to be over and done with and to just have a few days to relax.
Monday went pretty normal for the most part, Blake was lazier than usual, but I didnt seem to notice. After Beau got home from work, he made the comment that he was acting 'off', but again, we really didnt pay too close of attention, and I made dinner then we went to Walmart to do Blake's stocking shopping. Blake was unusually crabby at Walmart, but I just chalked it up to no nap and being cooped up inside all day. We got home, put him in him jammies and put him to bed around 8:30ish. At 9:30 I heard him crying, which is unusual for now-a-days. Ever since he's been in his big bed, he goes right to sleep, no problem. I let him cry for a few minutes (which I now regret whole-heartedly) before finally getting annoyed enough to go check on him. I opened his door and I could see he was standing on the edge of his bed. as I got closer, I noticed he was covered in puke! then I saw it everywhere else, on his blankets, his pillow, and in his hair. I yelled for Beau and he brought him to the bathtub (still sobbing) while I got the bath filled. Beau came back out if his room gagging, so he  gave him a bath while I stripped his bed and threw everything in the washer. After he got out, all he wanted to do was lay with Beau, so thats pretty much what we did while we waited for the Tylenol to kick in for his fever.
We gave him some gatorade and put him to bed around 11:00 I'm guessing, and he ended up sleeping the whole night thank goodness! He's doing better now, except for the fact that he still wont eat anything but graham crackers.
Tuesday I had a wedding in St.george, which took up most of my afternoon. Other than that I mostly worked on Christmas projects, and finished Blake's Christmas pajamas! Finally! I am procrastinating way too much his year.
\
(yes, I cheated and bought his shirt)

It really blows my mind that Christmas is a week away. I feel about 75% prepared. Okay, make that 72%. I did manage to finish my Christmas shopping yesterday! Stocking stuffers and all! Which is a load off my mind, since tomorrow I am headed to Manti to shoot ANOTHER wedding!
I dont know what made me think it would be a good idea to book 2 wedding the week before Christmas while 6 months pregnant. FYI... it's not a good idea.
Christmas shopping wasnt too difficult this year, since we got our big gifts from eachother like a week ago.
We joined the gorwn-up club and got iphones. I'm actually suprised at how much I use mine! I was pretty much againt smart phones up until about a few months ago. I thought they were totally unnecessary. But, I figured I'd at least use the camera and gps, so it might be worth it. It's so nice to be able to check email and keep all my lists in one place! And facetime (like skype for iphones) has been awesome! We facetime with Beau at least once a day! Anyways, so the point of all that was that I didnt have much 'Beau' shopping to do this year.
Speaking of shopping... I have been doing very well at not shopping for the little miss. I have bought a few more blankets though, a few fuzzy and a few muslin. I saw the muslin ones at TJMaxx not long ago, and they were 1/2 the price of the Aden and Anias ones that are so popular, so I figured I'd better snatch them up!

In other baby news... I hit 26 weeks yesterday. Not that it feels any different than 25 weeks! :) It's just unreal how fast it's all going, I only have 14 weeks left, maybe less. I'm feeling good! A little sore in the hip area, and still tired, but nothing to complain about! Name wise, we are still stuck. My choices are these two..
If I had to choose, I like Olivia better.
Beau pretty much dances around the issue. He wont give me a straight answer.
Blake may have to name her.
Aaand... one more picture. Just for luck.

Oh the weather outside....

Soo... how many of you can't comment on our blog? I've had a few people tell me that they arent able to comment? Anyone know what I need to do?
Anyways.. onto the fun stuff.

I hit 24 weeks today. this pregnancy is flying! Which probably is a good thing. Except we've taken 5 steps back in the name department. The other night I was looking through photography blogs at names (the only place online to find cute names that aren't terribly overused) and brought Beau a list. this was it.
(and yes I realize most of them are boy names, I'm a fan)
Drew
Liv
Olivia
Parker
Karsen
Mayson
Oakley
Dylan
Laynee
Beau vetoed all but Olivia immedietly. Then he proceeded to tell me that he wasn't sure if Quinn was 'the name' either. He is pulling a me, when I said that I liked the name Sadie, but I didnt think it was 'the name'. We both really like Olivia though. So I'm assuming thats topping our list? Really I have no idea. Beau is totally fine waiting until we are in the hospital to name her. I, on the other hand, am going insane not having a name. But our conversations on the subject pretty much go nowhere, so I've given up for now.
She is moving like crazy now. It took her a lot longer than it took Blake, and she doesn't move as often, but when she does, she goes crazy. I've also felt her get the hiccups quite often. Those are not my favorite.
My cravings have all but gone away. I cant stand beef or elk though. The smell and taste make me sick. Except for like Wendys or something like that, healthy, I know. :) I eat a lot of eggs, egg sandwiches or breakfast burritos.

Her room is coming along nicely. Beau put her crib up the other night, and the shelf he made. (So proud of him)
This is currently how far we've gotten... not much, but it's a start! I've got a lot of painting and sewing to do. It's impossible to get a decent picture at this time of day, I may take another one later and switch them out... we'll see ;)

Okay... heres the better picture...
Haha maybe I should of vaccumed. Don't mind the dry rose petals crushed into the carpet and the mr. potato head parts.
The other wall is empty, except for her dresser, which will soon be replaced with a larger one, and a huge pile of 'to-do' stuff. But soon it will be covered in frames, as soon as they are painted.
This is the general idea for the bedding. It looks a little different in person, but you get the idea. Keep in mind, nothing is ironed, or sewn for that matter! I just pinned it all up to see how it looked.

I've gotten a start on some headbands. I had ordered a whole bunch of the shabby flowers for cheap on etsy and Heidi taught me to make the ribbon bows. then there are a few I got from joannes and other random places. My only problem now is I have all these colors of bows, and most of her clothes are pink/purple/teal. Looks like I need to go shopping ;)

On Black friday Sandy and I braved Joannes for fabric. Which was totally worth it! I got lots of cute fabric for baby blankets, and gifts. Plus Blake's Christmas quilt (that I need to get started).
I've started the diaper hoarding. I've got 2 jumbo boxes so far. I'm hoping to buy enough now that we wont have to buy any after she is born. But that's unlikely.
I took a mini inventory of her closet the other day just to see how much of each size we had, and got a pretty good idea of what we still need to buy. Thankfully it's not much, just a few more warm blankets, some jammies, newborn pants and Sunday dresses. (I'm not one of those moms who can bring their baby to church in pajamas. Sorry.) The only big item we really need is a new pack and play, one with a bassinet. Since we got rid of Blake's bassinet, I figured we'd just get a 2 in 1 this time. Now the only problem is finding one that isnt cheesy.
Okay enough baby stuff. Can you tell what has been consuming my free time?
We went on a double date with Ramsey and Shaunie to Texas Road House. They had their girls, we however, left Blake with my mom! :) I needed a night off.

Beau has been back in town now for about a month(ish) and I am loving life. There was a few days he got to come home for lunch or we could to to the pit and eat with him, but now he's too busy paving to do that. I'm okay with it though, I get to talk to him all the time and he gets home at a decent hour! Blake has been attached to him, which is nice for me, not so nice when Beau is trying to get things done. But I know he loves it. ;)
This was last Saturday... Beau had to work in the morning, which is why he is in work clothes. But they both fell asleep on my nice, folded laundry. That's how we do saturdays. Unmade beds, play clothes, and naps.
Blake is repeating everything we say, and do for that matter. My favorite is how he says "what" with an emphasis on the 'WH'.
I think he hit another growth spurt, he's in 3T clothes now for the most part. He totally does not get the baby thing. I have an old doll from when I was little in the baby's room and he loves to put her in the bouncer and give her a kiss and say 'night night' ... so sweet, right? Until he grabs her by the foot and shakes her upside down. We're working on being 'soft'. He loves babies though, so I'm not too worried.
We are pretty much out of the 'nap' zone. I put him down around noon for a 'rest' and then if I'm lucky, at 4"00 he will fall asleep for an hour or 2.
I can tell he's at the age that he's getting bored with playing inside all day, lucking the weather has been nice, so he spends most afternoons out back playing in the sandbox.

I finally got our christmas decorations pretty much finished. I still could do more, but I have so many other projects going that I'm feeling like what I got up is good enough! We have 2 trees again this year, I don't know why I only took a photo of one? This is the one that will have all our 'fun' ornaments, once we get some, right now all we have is our wedding ornament, one that Beau made in preschool and a few other random ones.

I really need to iron our stockings.
I didn't have the guts to put out our porcelain nativity this year, so I framed a picture instead.

This is what I'm most proud of this year. I saw something similar on pinterest, but it was selling on etsy for like $40! But in my mind of course, I think "I can make that!" So, I did! It's not perfect, but I like it! I had to take it down to get a decent picture of it, but normally its on the wall.
Christmas is starting to stress me out this year. Beau and I are taking it easy with eachother's gifts, since we just bought the trailer (which I still need to post about) and we are getting Iphones today, so we figured we'd count those as our big gift to eachother. I also put a limit for myself on Blake's gifts. Last year I went a little overboard and he hardly ended up playing with any of it. So we stuck to a few fun toys, a few educational toys, books and clothes. Plus I am making him a christmas quilt (with the help of my awesome Mother in law! ;)
Christmas is coming faster than I expected, which is a good and bad thing. I just hope I get everything I have planned done!

gobble gobble.

We had a pretty low key thanksgiving this year! It was the 'off' year for both of our families, so we spent it with Beaus Mom, Stepdad and one of his stepsisters. We did get to see one of his sisters for a few minutes. We had a lot of fun though! Blake loved having kids to play with and getting to run around with them! He didn't eat much, suprise suprise, but he did eat pumpkin pie! That counts as a vegetable, right?
Looking at the Black Friday ads.
Beau totally passed on his OCD to this kiddo. All his crackers in a row :)
Had to get a picture of us. Beau was thrilled.
 His faces crack me up.
the closest we got to a family photo, but we are all smiling... so I'll take it!

A Marriage Prayer

"Lord, help us to remember when we first met and the strong love that grew between us. To work that love into practical things so nothing can divide us. We ask for words both kind and loving and hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive. Dear Lord, we put our marriage into your hands."
