i hate cold sores. they suck with a capital S! i got one about two weeks ago from stress, and didn't get rid of it until 2 days ago!! i was SO happy that it was finally gone! it had been SUCH a pain, ad i figured that i wouldn't get one for AT LEAST a few months... i don't get them that often, maybe like one every 4-6 months. well... that theory got shoved right out the door! this morning i woke up with 2 count 'em TWO of them!! one HUGE one on my bottom lip, and another smaller one on the top lip right above it! i know that is from the sun this time. when we went snowmobiling over the weekend i forgot chapstick, and my lips got burnt BAD! but they had gotten burnt from tanning before, so i didn't worry about it.
i went to the store this morning and got some abreva, because i had heard that it works wonders. but i am still ticked. does anyone know of anything that will make them go away FAST? and i mean FAST! I'm desperate.

My mom used to get them all the time untill someone told her about LLysine? I think thats how you spell it? Its a vitamin you can get at the grocery store, she takes it as soon as she feels one coming and it helps TONS!
I wish I had an instant cure for you. That has always been a pain for you huh. Hang in there, this to shall pass.
Llysine is great and abreva is also good. Having said that... I know our insurance sucks, but if you get some Valtrex from your doctor (it's not cheap) you wont have to worry about them anymore. When Randy feels the tingle of one coming on, he'll take a pill and then at the most 2 more and it will never show it's ugly head. Also, Blistex sticks (the pink and dark green ones) are the best for preventing them. We've done EVERYTHING!!! That's what will help, I promise that Valtrex is worth it's weight in gold. Try it, you wont go back!!! Good luck!!!
we have this stuff called melaluca oil that my mom puts on q-tip and puts in on the spot right where she feels it coming on...she does it morning and night for about 3 minutes or so and it is gone in 3 days max. if you wanna try it i have some of the oil you could have.... and also take the Llysine pills!
