food storage of the not so rich and famous
so last week we went to beau's dad's house for his birthday and his wife (bernice) and i got into a conversation about food storage. she is a whiz at it! i have never seen an acctual full on food storage... and i was quite suprised! i knew it would consist of wheat, powderd milk, and things like that... and i always said to myself, 'dang, if we ever have to live off that, we're gunna starve cuz i wont know what to do!?!?' but she had a lot of stuff that i had never thought of before! like nesquik powder (because be honest, who is REALLY going to drink plain powderd milk?) dried hashbrowns, sloppy joe mix that takes NO meat (she tried it and said it tastes the same!) dried fruit, soup mix and tons of other stuff! so i was all excited about it and was ready to go out and conquor this thing, when i asked her how much it all cost.... BIG mistake. one can is like $13! which isnt bad if your entire family can live off one can of food. but you nood like 100 diffrent cans!! yikes! and then problem #2... they have a HUGE pantry... so space isnt a problem... but um, we can barely fit our regular food in our pantry... let alone food storage!? so this is where you al come in. where did you start with your food storage? where do you put it all? do you have any ideas of things we can get at like costco or walmart that arent as pricey? and what do you do with it all!?!? and advice would be appreciated! wish us luck and pray i get it all done before some natural disaster strikes!!! because that would be just my luck.

A Marriage Prayer
"Lord, help us to remember when we first met and the strong love that grew between us. To work that love into practical things so nothing can divide us. We ask for words both kind and loving and hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive. Dear Lord, we put our marriage into your hands."

my email is iamasvena@hotmail.com... thanks!!
Food Storage is scary but needed. One thing we do is buy stuff we will use on a daily basis-soup, canned beans etc. Check with Mom she is great at finding the deals. We get ours at costco or whenever we find stuff on sale. As for the storage problem-try under beds-in closets and some you can even put in the garage. i am so proud that your starting so early-if you start now and just have it be part of your normal budget you'll be way ahead expessially when you have kids and need to live off of it for awhile. Good Luck!
Photoshop Elements. It is a pretty easy program. I haven't done anything with it for awhile, but there a quite a few tutorials that you can find that will walk you through it. :)
