72 hour kit!? umm.... HELP!!!

so i had a really weird dream last night. i dreamed that there was a blackout... not that bad i know... but for some reason we had to get out of the house and we knew that we wouldn't be coming back for a few days. and all we had time to grab was a wad of cash and a tub of licorice! when i woke up i was all pumped to go put our 72 hour kits together and have them ready! then i ran into a problem... what goes in them!? i have the basics like batteries, flashlights, and stuff like that, but i need ideas for like snacks and small food items with a LONG shelf life that i can put in there! and things that arent so obvious, what did you put in your families? or is anyone out there as lost as i am?any help/advice would be appreciated!!

First great job for getting on the ball so early! I still need to do ours-we had them in LA but haven't felt the urgency here- You need a couple of change of clothes-food that you can just eat,no cooking-first aid kit-water or juices-one thing we did was put them in a rubbermaid container and that way you can just grab throw in the car and go-

A Marriage Prayer

"Lord, help us to remember when we first met and the strong love that grew between us. To work that love into practical things so nothing can divide us. We ask for words both kind and loving and hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive. Dear Lord, we put our marriage into your hands."
